Dawn Hanzie has been teaching for ten years in various grade levels ranging from Kindergarten to High School as a Special Education teacher. She is excited to get started as a counselor here at Saint Peter and Paul School. She graduated in 2012 with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She then decided to keep going and pursue a Masters in School Counseling at Lewis University in 2015. Mrs. Hanzie is thankful for all her experiences because it brought her to where she is today! When she is not reading she is enjoying time with her beautiful daughter, husband and fluffy dog Patrick.
"Do everything in love"- 1 Corinthians 16:14
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7
I believe every child can learn and succeed. Everything we need to be successful is already within us. We just need to find the tools to show what we know. Our brains are such powerful muscles and when we believe in ourselves and accept that hard work is never easy, but always worth it then we begin to see a positive change. Mistakes are inevitable and wonderful because that is how we learn and grow. My hope is to spread kindness, positivity and help promote a growth mindset each and every day.
