Mrs. Kim Skraboly is very excited to join the SSPP family this school year. This year will be her 10th year teaching in the Joliet Diocese. The past 9 years, she has been at Holy Trinity School in Westmont. At Holy Trinity, she was lead preschool teacher for 3 years, taught 1st grade for 3 years, and then took on the reading resource position for 2 years to spend more time at home with her older daughter, Avery. Last school year, Mrs. Skraboly had the opportunity to teach 2nd grade at Holy Trinity. After high school, she went to Dominican University in River Forest where she received a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Elementary Education. After staring her first teaching job, she realized that literacy instruction was her passion, so she began her master’s work at National Louis University in 2015. She completed her Masters of Education in Literacy Education with an LBS1 endorsement in 2018. Mrs. Skraboly grew up in the Naperville area and is very excited to be working at and having her children attend a school closer to home. While she is not at school, Mrs. Skraboly loves to spend time at home with her children (Avery, 4 and Grayson, 2), her husband, and her 2 dogs (Warren and Jax). They enjoy spending time being active outdoors, playing board games, and cooking healthy meals.
Isaiah 41:10 - “Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed; I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you, anduphold you with my right hand of justice.”
Mrs. Skraboly takes a whole child approach in her classroom. This means that it is important to nurture students not only in academics, but to nurture their social and emotional development as well. Building a Christ centered learning environment is essential to this process. Students who know that they are cared for are more motivated and successful in the classroom. By understanding each child, it helps to build positive relationships and sets up academic success for all!
