Jennifer Conover grew up in Springfield, Illinois, as a St. Joseph's Parish member with her parents and three sisters. She attended Ursuline Academy, where her childhood dreams of becoming a teacher started to take shape. Jennifer's commitment to Catholic service began under the Ursuline sisters' direction, where she taught first-grade religious education classes. These experiences confirmed her passion for education, which led Jennifer to pursue her bachelor of arts in elementary education at Illinois College in Jacksonville. She has taught various grade levels, and most of her career has focused on teaching fifth and third grades at Holy Angels School in Aurora. Now, Jennifer brings 25 years of Catholic teaching experience to Saints Peter and Paul and is honored and excited for the opportunity to continue her passion for Catholic education by taking on the fourth-grade curriculum.
Jennifer's life outside the classroom is just as vibrant. She has been happily married to Jim for 25 years and is a proud mother of two sons, John and Logan. When she's not shaping young minds, Jennifer enjoys a variety of activities. She finds solace in reading, rejuvenation in hiking, and adventure in traveling. She also cherishes the time spent with her loved ones, often hosting family and friends. As a dedicated wrestling mom, she can always be found cheering on her boys as they compete in high school and collegiate wrestling.
Favorite Bible Verse:
"Joy is prayer; joy is strength; joy is love; joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls." Psalm 113:7-9
Teaching Philosophy:
The classroom is a community of learners where successes are celebrated, and struggles are supported. Students contribute their unique gifts and talents to this classroom community. Education is the launching point for young minds; the teacher is responsible for providing positive experiences with a wide range of knowledge, skills, and activities. At the center of all this is our faith, which frames our existence, values, hopes, and dreams. Finding inspiration from St. Catherine of Siena, Jennifer believes, "Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire."
