Mrs. O’Malley’s Religion Classroom is a learning environment where the students will encounter the love of Christ. Students will practice contemplative, meditative and vocal prayers daily. They will know Scripture and how everything in the Old Testament points to the fulfillment of Jesus Christ in the New Testament.
In Religion, they will learn their Faith by heart, never to be forgotten so that they will have the tools to not only love their Faith, but to defend it as they age. They will learn this by practicing the devotionals of the Rosary, the Holy Souls in Purgatory and the Stations of the Cross. They will attend Mass regularly and practice the virtue of piety and reverence for the Holy Eucharist and serve the Church by being lectors during the children’s Masses at school.
Lastly, they will KNOW who God is by the daily lessons in their books that can be applied to their lives. They will LOVE Him by following the Catechism and laws of the Church, and in loving their neighbor they will see Christ in everyone. When they give their heart over to the Lord, they will SERVE him willingly by giving their time and talent to the needs of the Church.
